This policy explains what Build Yourself collects, why we use it, when we disclose it, and the controls available to you.

Effective September 22, 2026

1. Scope and operator

Build Yourself operates the Build Yourself mobile application, website, and related services. In this policy, “Build Yourself,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Build Yourself.

This policy applies to information handled through our consumer services. It does not cover third-party services that have their own privacy policies.

2. Data we collect

  • Google or Apple account identifiers when you choose social sign-in.

  • Meals, calorie and macronutrient information, nutrition targets, and weigh-ins.
  • Goals, equipment, schedule, injuries, discomfort, physical constraints, coaching messages, and other information you choose to provide.

  • Request records such as IP address, request path, response status, latency, request identifier, and account identifier where available.
  • Operational events needed to diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and protect the service.

Sources

We receive information directly from you, from your use of Build Yourself, and from Google or Apple if you use their sign-in services.

3. How we use data

We use information to:

  • Create and secure your account, verify your email address, and keep you signed in.
  • Provide workouts, nutrition tracking, progress history, and personalized coaching.
  • Generate and improve responses from AI-powered features based on the context you provide.
  • Send service communications, including verification and account-deletion messages.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, analyze, and protect the service.
  • Comply with law, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect users and others.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and Build Yourself does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.

4. Consumer health information

Some fitness, nutrition, body measurement, injury, discomfort, and coaching information may be considered consumer health data under applicable law. We collect this information from you and from your activity in the service to provide the features you request.

We may disclose this information to the service providers described below when necessary to host the service, process an AI request, support account functions, maintain security, or complete a deletion request. We do not sell consumer health data.

You may ask to access, correct, or delete this information by contacting us. You can also delete your account through the app or our public account deletion page. Where required by law, you may withdraw consent for future collection or disclosure. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed and may prevent us from providing features that need the information.

5. AI features and service providers

Build Yourself uses AI providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and DeepSeek, to support features such as coaching conversations, training plans, and nutrition estimates. When you use an AI feature, relevant prompts and account context may be sent to one of these providers so it can return a response.

Only enter information you are comfortable using for the requested feature. AI output can be incomplete or incorrect and should not be treated as medical advice.

We also rely on providers that support hosting, databases, email delivery, security, and sign-in. Their handling of information is governed by their terms, our applicable arrangements with them, and applicable law.

6. How we disclose data

We may disclose information:

  • To service providers: for AI processing, hosting, database operations, email delivery, authentication, and security.
  • At your direction: when you request a feature or otherwise direct us to share information.
  • For legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
  • During a business transaction: in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell personal information or consumer health data. We do not disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep account and service data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Email verification codes expire after 10 minutes. Access tokens expire after 15 minutes, and refresh sessions may remain valid for up to 60 days unless revoked sooner.

When you delete your account, we remove account data from active systems and clear associated cached or queued payloads. Limited information may remain in logs or backups when needed for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or system recovery, and is removed under the applicable operational schedule.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to withdraw consent for certain processing. You may update available profile information in the app and delete your account from the app or the account deletion page.

To make another request, email privacy@build-yourself.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. If we deny a request and applicable law gives you a right to appeal, reply to our decision and state that you want to appeal.

9. Security and international processing

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and credential protections. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Build Yourself and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those where you live.

10. Age requirement

Build Yourself is intended only for people age 18 or older. We do not knowingly offer the service to children. If you believe a person under 18 has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or law changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required. If an update requires new consent, the app will ask you to review and accept the updated documents before continuing.

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to privacy@build-yourself.com.
